多読 Level1 Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

This is the story of Captain Nemo and his famous submarine, the Nautilus. One day, Nemo finds three men in the cold sea. For 20,000 leagues the men live together on the Nautilus. They find a town on the sea floor, beautiful coasts and lots of gold. But they are not happy. Can they escape from Nemo’s submarine and live?
league とは長さの単位で3マイル（4.828km）の意味だそうです。最初は Twenty Thousand Leagues という意味がよく分からず多読のルールを破って辞書を引いてしまいました。この本は Penguin Leaders の Level 1 なのですが、他のレベル１の本と比べてレベルが高い気がします。最初読んだときには途中でやめてしまいました。
これではレベル２が思いやられますね。。。先日ヤフーオークションでレベル２の本を10冊ほど購入したのでなんとしてでも続けねば！
